The Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Content in this section:

Marian University is closely monitoring the worldwide situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and continues to follow the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. Department of State.

A novel coronavirus is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The virus causing coronavirus disease 2019, referenced as COVID-19, is not the same as coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, like the common cold.

While the risk to the United States remains in flux, please follow the CDC recommendations regarding social distancing, isolation and sheltering in place. We each have a personal responsibility to assist in mitigating this emergent public health threat. Marian students, faculty, staff and visitors are asked to maintain healthy habits to help prevent the spread of disease.

What Marian is Doing

To protect our Marian University community, please do not come to the Student Health Center without an appointment. Students are encouraged to call the Student Health Center at (317) 955-6154 to discuss symptoms and will be guided as to how to proceed. Students will be screened for symptoms and the possibility of exposure and scheduled accordingly.
